Minnesota Vikings News and Links, 6/19

Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports

Training Camp starts in Mankato just five weeks from today, ladies and gentlemen! We will be there. . .we're in the midst of finalizing a few things, but we will be there. Today is also the final day of the Minnesota Vikings' final mini-camp before Training Camp starts, so we'll see if any interesting developments come out of that.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-I made an attempt to enter the world of song parody regarding the Vikings' quarterback situation. Weird Al, I am not.

-Teddy Bridgewater. Cordarrelle Patterson. We're going to be seeing a lot of this.

-CCNorseman takes a look at what position on the Vikings' roster is the weakest. Hard to argue his assessment, in my opinion.

-Ted brought us another episode of RickSpeak, this one starring offensive coordinator Norv Turner. I'm thinking that ZimSpeak and NORV~!Speak are different dialects of RickSpeak, which is the parent language. I'd include GeorgeSpeak, but I don't think George Edwards has said much outside of his introductory press conference.

From some other sources around the internet. . .

-Special teams coach Mike Priefer is attempting to focus on football in the midst of the ongoing investigation surrounding him.

-The Minnesota Vikings Partnership Fund, along with the University of Minnesota Good Neighbor Fund, are funding six community-driven projects in the Twin Cities area.

-Vikings quarterbacks apparently have a lot more freedom under the new NORV~! offense than they did under Bill Musgrave. Imagine that.

-Vikings' GM Rick Spielman released a statement to thank defensive tackle Kevin Williams for his 11 years of service to the team.

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've ever been, ladies and gentlemen. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, keep the language relatively clean (using spoiler tags if necessary), and keep the GIFs relatively work-safe. We allowed a bit more leeway yesterday, given that the topic of the day was connected to football.

For today's sitcom theme, we'll do this one for our good friend Don Glover.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for this Thursday, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy the rest of your day!
