Source: Flowers Not Likely To Visit Minnesota Vikings

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

When the Kansas City Chiefs released Pro Bowl cornerback Brandon Flowers last week, the Minnesota Vikings were one of the teams that showed some very early interest in him.

From the reports that are coming out, it doesn't appear that said interest is mutual.

According to Ben Goessling of ESPN.com, Flowers. . .who is currently in the middle of a visit with the San Diego Chargers. . .does not have any intention of visiting the Vikings at the present time. He is scheduled to make visits with a few other teams after he's done in San Diego, but the Vikings are not currently on the list.

Flowers, who made the Pro Bowl for the first time in 2013 despite having one of his worst seasons (see the link above), is getting ready to begin his seventh NFL season. He's a smaller corner that had a problem transitioning from a more zone-based scheme to one that relies more on press coverage. The Vikings are expected to install a more aggressive system this coming season under new head coach Mike Zimmer and new defensive coordinator George Edwards.

So, barring a massive upset, Brandon Flowers will not be coming to ply his trade in Minnesota.
