Minnesota Vikings News and Links, 6/26

Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports

Nearly through another week, everybody. Thank goodness for that.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-The Minnesota Vikings will be holding their Ride For Life in just a few weeks.

-Ted takes a look at the cornerback position for our favorite football team.

-The "man" that was charged with beating Adrian Peterson's son to death has been arrested again.

-CCNorseman takes a look at receiver Cordarrelle Patterson from a fantasy football perspective.

-A couple of young players on the Vikings' roster are projected for big things this coming season.

From some other sources across the internet. . .

-According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, 92% of the work hours involved in the construction of the new Minnesota Vikings stadium have been put in by Minnesota workers. That's pretty damn good.

-Be sure to check out this story from 1500 ESPN about changes in the settlement over concussions between the NFL and current/former players.

-Speaking of 1500 ESPN, they've put together a list of the ten most underappreciated Minnesota sports figures. A few prominent Vikings are on the list.

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've ever been, ladies and gentlemen. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if necessary), and keep the GIFs relatively work-safe.

Another television theme song for today's background entertainment.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for this Thursday, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy the rest of your day!
