Minnesota Vikings News and Links, 6/9

Trevor Ruszkowksi-USA TODAY Spor

Hey, everyone! I hope that everyone's weekend went better than mine did, because my weekend sucked. It sucked like few weekends have ever sucked before it. But I get another weekend in just five days, and I'm hoping that things improve.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-There seems to be a rash of people thinking that the Minnesota Vikings, who have been lauded for their off-season thus far, haven't gotten any better. USA Today seems to think that way, as does Evan Silva over at RotoWorld.

-This year's Adrian Peterson Day in Palestine, Texas is going to be more focused on health than it is on football.

-There is a brand new episode of Norse Code available for your listening pleasure.

-Running back Jerick McKinnon is still unsigned because the bottom of the third round of this year's draft class is all messed up, signing-wise.

-New Vikings' offensive coordinator NORV~! Turner wanted quarterback Matt Cassel to come to Cleveland last year.

-It looks like we might have a winner for the naming rights for the Vikings' stadium.

-The National Football League had a big ol' list of demands for cities wanting to host the Super Bowl.

-Jerry Burns is still the f$%&ing man, and if you have a problem with that, don't you f$%&ing blame f$%&ing Schnelker. F$%&ers.

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've ever been, ladies and gentlemen. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, keep the language relatively clean (with spoiler tags if necessary. . .yes, even your Jerry Burns references), and keep the GIFs relatively work-safe.

No real theme for this week's music. . .just whatever I feel like tossing up here.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for this Monday, ladies and gentlemen. Have a good rest of your day, and we'll have more for you later on!
