Minnesota Vikings News and Links, 7/1

Adam Bettcher

Wake up, wake up! It's the first of the monnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnth!

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-One of the largest cranes in the world is being brought in to help construct the new Minnesota Vikings' stadium. It's a Bigge crane. Really, that's not misspelled. . .that's the name of the company.

-Ted took a look at the competition for snaps at defensive tackle.

From some other sources around the internet. . .

-ESPN's Ben Goessling is among those letting us know that defensive end Everson Griffen has something to prove this season.

-The Viking Age thinks that the team should take another look at wide receiver Duron Carter.

-In Minnesota news, Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor has agreed to purchase the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. No word on whether or not Sid Hartman told Taylor to get the hell off his lawn.

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've ever been, folks. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, keep the language relatively clean (using spoiler tags if necessary), and keep the GIFs relatively work-safe.

Continuing with "Summer Blockbuster" song week, a little ditty about the area surrounding the border between Denmark and Germany.

If there were a Danger Zone, how much would it cost to build a highway to it, anyway? Heck, maybe we could have the new Vikings' stadium called the "Danger Zone."

Oh, and since you know it's coming. . .

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for this Tuesday, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy the rest of your day!
