NFL MVP Odds: Adrian Peterson A Bit Of A Dark Horse

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The folks from Bovada, in anticipation of the 2014 NFL season, have released their list of odds on who will be the Most Valuable Player this coming year.

As you'd expect, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is on the list of candidates, but he's not as strong a candidate as you might think. He is currently listed as a 25-to-1 shot to win his second MVP award. That puts him in a group of players that includes San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III, Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson, and Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy.

Peyton Manning is the odds-on favorite at 3-1. Really can't argue with that too much.

Here is the full preliminary listing of MVP odds for this coming season.
