Minnesota Vikings News and Links, 8/27

John Rieger-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to the middle of the week, folks, and the day before the Minnesota Vikings' 2014 pre-season finale against the Tennessee Titans.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-Di was on the Purple FTW Podcast. Listen. Subscribe. It's good stuff.

-The Vikings made a couple more roster moves yesterday. One of them was the release of tight end Mike Higgins, and the other was placing safety Mistral Raymond on injured reserve after he cleared waivers.

-Teddy Bridgewater. . .who is awesome, by the way. . .took out a full-page ad in a Louisville newspaper to thank the fans for their support.

-We inquired about how many fantasy football leagues you're going to be playing in this year.

-Defensive tackle Linval Joseph has stated that he will be ready for Week 1 of the 2014 season.

-Mike Zimmer almost didn't make the trip to Minnesota for his second interview.

-Looking forward to tomorrow's game, it looks as though Teddy Bridgewater might be getting the start at quarterback. Some of his teammates, however, will be sitting this one out.

From some other sources around the internet. . .

-Tight end Chase Ford might finally see his first action of the year on Thursday night.

-As it turns out, Norv Turner might not be a big fan of Pro Football Focus, either.

-Judd Zulgad agrees with the Vikings putting Teddy Bridgewater on the bench to start with.

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've ever been, ladies and gentlemen. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, keep the bad language to a minimum (using spoiler tags, if necessary), and keep the GIFs relatively work-safe.

Enjoy your video for today.

I know I enjoyed it.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for this Wednesday, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy the rest of your day!
