We reported last week that wide receiver Jerome Simpson was in New York to talk to the league offices about a three-game suspension stemming from his substance abuse issues this past season.
Well, the National Football League finally got around to announcing the results of that appeal. . .I guess I should be surprised that they bothered themselves to do it before the final roster cuts were due. But, as expected. . .
Can confirm WR Jerome Simpson's three game suspension has been upheld, per source #Vikings

Jerome Simpson is still going to miss the Vikings' first three games of the 2014 NFL season.
Simpson signed a third consecutive one-year deal with the Vikings this off-season, and will now have three fewer opportunities to help himself before he reaches free agency. . .again.
This could be good news for guys like Rodney Smith and Adam Thielen, as it would now be a surprise to see the Vikings cut ties with either of them in the final round of roster cuts. Hopefully more information on the injuries that both of them are dealing with will be forthcoming before too long.
