The Minnesota Vikings have announced that they have filled nine of the ten slots on their practice squad for 2014.
Kendall James, a sixth-round pick out of Maine that was the only Vikings draft choice to not make the 53-man roster, highlights the squad. He is joined by eight other players, all of whom were with the Vikings throughout Training Camp this year.
Here is the full list of practice squad players:
RB Joe Banyard
WR Kain Colter
DT Isame Faciane
TE Chase Ford
WR Donte Foster
CB Kendall James
C Zac Kerin
OT Mike Remmers
DE Justin Trattou
There is one spot still available on the practice squad. The smart money is that said spot is earmarked for offensive lineman Austin Wentworth. Wentworth originally made the 53-man roster, but was released earlier in the day when the Vikings claimed offensive tackle Mike Harris and tight end MarQueis Gray off of waivers. (Linebacker Larry Dean was released as well.)
Wentworth will not be eligible to join the practice squad for 24 hours, as he has to clear waivers. If he does, the Vikings will likely sign him to the practice squad.
But that's the Minnesota Vikings' practice squad as it stands right now, ladies and gentlemen. Thanks for hanging out with us this weekend to keep track of all the team's moves as we prepare for Week 1 in St. Louis!
