Minnesota Vikings News and Links, 8/6

Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports

It's that most camel-riffic of all days, ladies and gentlemen. It also happens to be the last day that our team in Mankato will have access to practice before the pre-season opener.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-Ted was on the radio in Des Moines to talk about the Minnesota Vikings. He's big in Iowa.

-We have the complete Vikings' pre-season broadcast schedule, complete with replays on both Fox Sports North and the NFL Network.

-Matt Cassel will start the pre-season opener on Friday but Teddy Bridgewater is going to get some run with the first team.

-The team also released it's first unofficial depth chart leading up to Friday's contest against the Oakland Raiders.

-Speaking of the pre-season opener, Ted also gave us a few things we should be on the lookout for.

From some other sources across the interwebs. . .

-Mike Zimmer has apparently instituted what one could call the "Willie Mays Hayes" rule for offsides penalties.

-Judd Zulgad of 1500 ESPN has some takes from Minnesota Vikings training camp thus far.

-Seventh-round draft pick Jabari Price. . .who has, apparently, been making quite an impression thus far. . .is getting some pointers from former Viking (and Golden Gopher) Tyrone Carter.

-You had one job, Mr. T-Shirt Maker Guy. ONE. . .JOB.

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've ever been, ladies and gentlemen. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, keep the bad language to a minimum (with spoiler tags, if necessary), and keep the GIFs relatively work-safe.

Your entertainment for today.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for this Wednesday, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy the rest of your day!
