It's FOOTBALL FRIDAY WOOOOOOO

SOON
SOON
Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports

In 12 hours from now, we will be watching the Minnesota Vikings play real, live, by God football. The march to the regular season begins, and the Raiders are on the docket tonight.

But before then, let's see what's going on around the Vikings world:

We took a look at the roster bubble watch for the offense.

The mothership talked about four Vikings players set to break out in 2014.

Silver and Black Pride tells us that Khalil Mack, a guy that was a pre-draft favorite of a lot of Vikings fans, is ready to go.

From elsewhere around the Vikings world:

Sacks might be at a premium for defensive ends in a Mike Zimmer Vikings defense. But that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Christian Ponder's fall from grace is complete, it would seem.

Here are some changes made to TCF Bank Stadium since the Vikings last played there in the tire fire season that was 2010.

Scott Crichton had an easy decision on whether or not to stay in school or turn pro.

Finally, to wrap up our random video week...once upon a time, the Raiders and Vikings met in Super Bowl XI. That was a sad day, which we won't re-live, but a couple weeks before, in the NFC Championship, the Vikings met the Los Angeles Rams. They had tied earlier in the year at Met Stadium, and this had turned into an intense rivalry in the '70's.  It was a great game, with two really good teams going toe to toe, which I remember all those playoff games with the Rams were. It's not the greatest video quality, but it was the last great hurrah of the Purple People Eaters. They won two more division titles, and went back to the NFC Championship in 1977, but this was the last great game of one of the most memorable era of any team in NFL history. Enjoy:

The rules of our daily thread are the same as always: no politics, no religion, use the spoiler tag for the bad words, and let's not feed any trolls.

Oh, for gameday, we'll have a game thread up about 6 PM CST, along with a couple other things throughout the day.

GUYS AND GALS: VIKINGS FOOTBALL IN 12 HOURS WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
