Minnesota Vikings News and Links, 9/17

Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports

This past week has been the longest month I've had in a long time. Can I get a camel up in here, seriously?

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-The big story, for those of you just waking up, is that the Minnesota Vikings have placed running back Adrian Peterson on the "Exempt/Commissioner's Permission" List. This will require Peterson to abstain from all team activities while his case goes through the legal process. As we've been told that the case likely won't go to trial until 2015, it appears that Peterson's season. . .and possibly career in Minnesota. . .are done. (Short of him agreeing to some sort of a plea deal or something.)

(Yeah, the team chose to let that little tidbit slip at about 1 AM Minnesota time. Competely unintentional, I'm sure.)

-We started our stream for our coverage of this week's actual football game with a look back at the history between the Vikings and the New Orleans Saints.

-We took a look around the internet at the latest Power Rankings and where the Vikings sit.

-That greatest of all football philosophers, Zim Tzu, is back for your reading pleasure.

From some other sources around the internet. . .

-It isn't Teddy Bridgewater time for the Vikings. . .not yet, anyway. Don't worry, it's coming.

Well, you know, other than that, pretty much all the news is about the same damn topic. You know which one it is.

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've always been. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, keep the language relatively clean (using spoiler tags if necessary), and keep the GIFs relatively work-safe.

For today's musical selection. . .hit the sarcasm switch!

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for this Wednesday, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy the rest of your day, and if anything else happens, you know we'll have it.
