A Look at FanDuel For Week 4

And seriously, when else am I going to use this picture of Phil Mickelson's wife high-fiving Vikings fans at the Ryder Cup?

It's time again to take a look at my efforts to "cash in" so much as one time this season through the weekly fantasy football leagues at FanDuel.com.

Last week's effort to get to the pay window in the "Duel for a Difference" turned out to be unsuccessful, as I finished a pretty disappointing 849th out of 1274 entries. Matthew Stafford, Sammy Watkins, and Zach Ertz thought it would be good to take the week off, I guess.

There is no "Duel for a Difference" this week, so it's time to jump into one of the regular $5 pools and see what happens. And this week, I won't be finishing 849th. . .because the pool is limited to 250 entrants. I could still finish 250th, though.

So, how does the lineup look this week? Here it is.

QB: Teddy Bridgewater (vs Atlanta) - $5,900
RB: DeMarco Murray (vs New Orleans) - $9,000
RB: Le'Veon Bell (vs Tampa Bay) - $8,800
WR: Jeremy Maclin (at San Francisco) - $8,000
WR: Cordarrelle Patterson (vs Atlanta) - $6,600
WR: Hakeem Nicks (vs Tennessee) - $5,800
TE: Travis Kelce (vs New England) - $5,200
K: Blair Walsh (vs Atlanta) - $5,200
D: San Diego Chargers (vs Jacksonville) - $5,300

Teddy? Hell yes, why not Teddy? And getting him so cheap allowed me to load up at running back, as well as get Maclin to headline my wide receivers. Hopefully Patterson will break out a little bit on Sunday as well.

So, how much would it cost you to field an all-Minnesota Vikings lineup for this week compared to last week? Well, it's gotten a bit cheaper, as you might imagine.

QB: Teddy Bridgewater - $5,900 (Matt Cassel was $6,200 last week, so -$300)
RB: Matt Asiata - $6,300 (+$100)
WR: Cordarrelle Patterson - $6,600 (-$300)
WR: Greg Jennings - $5,400 (-$100)
WR: Jarius Wright - $4,500 (no change)
TE: MarQueis Gray/Rhett Ellison - $4,500 for either (Kyle Rudolph was $5,400 last week, so -$900)
K: Blair Walsh - $5,200 (+$200 from last week)
D: Minnesota - $5,000 (+$100 from last week)

Total: $43,400 (down -$1200 from last week's total of $44,600)

Frankly, if you wanted to, you could load up on Vikings (without putting them in all nine slots) and still have plenty of cap room left over for premiere wide receivers and running backs. Hopefully the offense can put together a decent enough performance this weekend to see those sorts of numbers increase in the FanDuel world.

The quest for respectability continues for yours truly at FanDuel. Have any of you folks out there cashed in so far this season?
