Everson Griffen Missed Practice On Thursday

Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

While the Minnesota Vikings are relatively healthy going into their season opening match-up with the St. Louis Rams, there was a bit of news on Thursday that might give Vikings fans a bit of concern.

Defensive end Everson Griffen, scheduled to get just his second career NFL start on Sunday, missed Thursday's practice session with an undisclosed illness. Griffen's status for this Sunday is "not in doubt," according to head coach Mike Zimmer.

Thus far, it appears that three players are set to miss Sunday's contest, and none of them are listed as starters. Linebacker Brandon Watts will miss the game with a knee injury, and fellow linebacker Mike Mauti is doubtful to go with a foot injury. Fullback Zach Line was able to do some individual work on Thursday, but his status for Sunday's game is still an unknown at this time.

The official injury report for the Sunday games will come out sometime on Friday, and we will have all of that for you whenever the news comes out.
