Minnesota Vikings at St. Louis Rams: Final Injury Reports

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

Well, ladies and gentlemen, it's the Friday before game day, and that means that both the Minnesota Vikings and their opponents. . .this week, the St. Louis Rams. . .have released their final injury reports. So, let's take a look at who will be sitting out on Sunday, as well as the status of some players we're unsure on.

We'll start, as always, with the visiting team.

Player Position Injury Sunday Status
Zach Line FB Ankle Out
Michael Mauti LB Foot Out
Brandon Watts LB Knee Out
Everson Griffen DE Illness Questionable
Mike Harris OT Shoulder Questionable
Jabari Price CB Shoulder Probable
Rodney Smith WR Neck Probable

The big name on the list here is obviously Griffen. He sat out practice on Thursday with his illness, and apparently went inside after the stretching portion of Friday's workouts. I'd be shocked if he wasn't out there on Sunday, however. Line, Mauti, and Watts have sat out during various portions of practice this past week, so their being listed as "Out" really isn't much of a surprise. Not sure how much they were counting on Harris, as he's only been on the team for a week and probably isn't all that familiar with the offense yet.

And now, the home team, the St. Louis Rams.

Player Position Injury Sunday Status
Trumaine Johnson CB Knee Out
Barrett Jones C Back Out
Eugene Simms DE Knee Questionable
Maurice Alexander S --- Probable
Jo-Lon Dunbar LB Shoulder Probable
William Hayes DE Chest Probable
Jake Long OT Knee Probable

Alexander had an excused absence from practice on Friday, which is why he's listed on the injury report. Johnson and Jones were expected to be out before this week. Johnson is usually the starter opposite Janoris Jenkins at cornerback. . .not sure who the Rams will be starting in his place.

And those are the bumps and bruises for the Minnesota Vikings and the St. Louis Rams going into this weekend's contest at the Edward Jones Dome, ladies and gentlemen. We'll have more coverage of this one leading right up to kickoff.
