Well, so much for that happy buzz that a lot of us were feeling after that first week of NFL play, eh? We'll have a couple of our own takes about yesterday's big story coming in the next day or two. Otherwise, it's all Minnesota Vikings, all the time.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-The Vikings won their first game under Mike Zimmer in a blowout. Is Mike Zimmer happy? Hell no, Mike Zimmer's not happy. (Well, I'm sure he's a little happy.)

-Who had the most playing time in Sunday's victory? We have the snap counts to answer that question right here.

-Ted takes a look at the play that proved to be the turning point of Sunday's game.

-The Vikings now have a vacancy on the practice squad, as the Chicago Bears have poached safety Ahmad Dixon.

From some other sources around the internet. . .

-A couple of links from Pro Football Focus, as they talk about the Vikings getting pressure and how Sunday's opponent, the New England Patriotsfind themselves under pressure.

-For all the positives that came out of Sunday's game, the Vikings need to fix their penalty issues.

-The Vikings reached an injury settlement with safety Jamarca Sanford, who was then released.

-A Minnesota couple is biking from Minneapolis to Green Bay in order to raise money for charity.

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've ever been, ladies and gentlemen. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, keep the language relatively clean (with spoiler tags, if necessary), and keep the GIFs relatively work-safe.

Your entertainment for today, the latest edition of Jimmy Fallon's biggest contribution to the world of entertainment. . .songs with toy instruments.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for this Tuesday, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy the rest of your day!
