Happy New Year, everybody! More about our year is coming later on, but this is your first Open Thread of 2015!

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-Ted brought you the year-end prospectus from this year's Stock Market Report.

-There are plenty of things to be optimistic about for the Minnesota Vikings going into next season.

-And, in case you missed it, Teddy Bridgewater is really pretty awesome.

From some other sources around the internet. . .

-Remember, the Minnesota Golden Gophers play their first New Year's Day bowl in. . .well, forever. . .today when they take on the Missouri Tigers in the Buffalo Wild Wings' Citrus Bowl. Our friends at The Daily Gopher have all the relevant information for you.

(Related note. . .mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, Buffalo Wild Wings.)

-George Paton, the Vikings' Assistant General Manager (not the assistant to the General Manager) has declined an opportunity to interview for the New York Jets' GM position.

-Neither rain nor snow nor really freaking cold temperatures will keep those building the new Vikings' stadium from getting the job done.

-Well, what do you know. . .the NFL can hear an appeal quickly when they really, really want to.

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've ever been, ladies and gentlemen. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tag feature if necessary), and keep the pictures work-safe and appropriately-sized.

Let's let it all hang out to start the year, shall we?

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open to start the New Year, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy the rest of your day, and we'll be back with more later on!
