Happy New Year, ladies and gentlemen!
#Vikings CB Jabari Price was booked in Hennepin County jail on Dec. 29 for a misdemeanor DWI; he has a Feb. 9 court appearance.
— Ben Goessling (@GoesslingESPN) January 2, 2015
It's been a while since the last Vikings' arrest, but with the off-season upon us, it appears that we might be back on the standard track.
Goessling's tweet is the only thing currently available about the matter. The Vikings' season-ending victory over the Chicago Bears was on 28 December, and according to the records from the Hennepin County Sheriff's website, Price was booked into the courthouse at around 4:40 AM on the 29th.
It appears that Price has been charged with fourth-degree DWI, which means that it has no "aggravating factors." Aggravating factors are classed as the following:
1. A prior DWI conviction or alcohol-related driver's license revocation within ten years of the current offense.
2. Having an alcohol concentration of 0.20% or more in the present offense.
3. Having a child under the age of sixteen in the vehicle at the time of the offense if the child is more than thirty-six months younger than the driver.
Price's court appearance is scheduled for 8:30 AM on 9 February. It will be interesting to see how the team deals with this given the off-field things they've had to deal with this past season.
