Minnesota Vikings News and Links, 1/27

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

We're one day closer to the official conclusion of the 2014 NFL season, ladies and gentlemen. . .and one day closer to free agency, the NFL Draft, and all the other stuff that fans of 30 of the 32 NFL teams are really concerned about.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-Mike Zimmer is awesome. But you knew that already.

-Former Vikings' quarterback Daunte Culpepper seems to really like current quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.

-One source says that the Minnesota Vikings are a long way away from contending for a title.

-Another source says that this team is loaded with young talent. (I like this one better.)

From some other sources around the internet. . .

-It turns out that kicker Blair Walsh is quite the outdoorsman. Well, when it comes to his kicking, anyway.

-You have to read this a fan profile from Vikings Territory.

-It sounds like Teddy Bridgewater is working on bulking up. Nothing wrong with that.

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've always been, ladies and gentlemen. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if necessary), and keep the pictures work-safe and appropriately-sized.

Your entertainment for today.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for this Tuesday, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy the rest of your day!
