FanDuel Week 6: Getting Back At It

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

Editor's Note: A new $2,000,000 one-week fantasy football league is open on FanDuel for Week 6. First place wins $150,000 on Sunday. Join now!

So, I took last week off from playing FanDuel, putting a post out there to focus on strategies for playing the weekly leagues. This week, I'm going to give things another go, even though I haven't had any success thus far in 2015. Will things change this week? It sure would be nice.

Here's the lineup I'm going to go with this week.

Position Player Team Opponent Salary
QB Tom Brady NE @ IND $9,000
RB Adrian Peterson MIN KC $8,900
RB Justin Forsett Melvin Gordon DeMarco Murray PHI NYG $7,600
WR A.J. Green CIN @ BUF $8,100
WR Allen Hurns JAC HOU $6,500
WR Stefon Diggs Kendall Wright Stefon Diggs MIN KC $4,500
TE Antonio Gates SD @ GB $5,500
K Nick Novak HOU @ JAC $4,600
D New York Jets NYJ WAS $4,800
Total Salary $59,500

Like I mentioned in last week's post, I generally don't put a lot of money into the quarterback position. However, after everything that went on with those two teams in the off-season, I think the Patriots are going to beat the Colts like a piñata on Sunday night, and Brady is going to light it up. In order to get him and Peterson on the roster, I had to skimp at the wide receiver spot a bit, but I don't think I did too badly. Diggs is a potential bargain depending on how the Vikings want to distribute snaps among their receivers on Sunday with their injury situation.

EDIT: I altered things a bit now that it looks like Forsett might not play on Sunday. Had to lose Diggs so I could get a semi-decent second running back. So, I went with Melvin Gordon because Green Bay's run defense has been fairly disastrous, and Wright because. . .well, because he was about the best that was left at that salary level.

EDIT THE SECOND: Charles Johnson is out for the Vikings and Diggs has been announced as the starter, so I went back to Diggs. Forsett is still a bit iffy, though, so I grabbed Murray at the same salary level to fill the other RB spot.

So, if you wanted to load up on Minnesota Vikings this week, how much would it cost you? Let's take a look at everything.

Position Player Week 4 Salary Week 6 Salary Change
QB Teddy Bridgewater $6,500 $6,600 +$100
RB Adrian Peterson $9,000 $8,900 -$100
RB Jerick McKinnon $5,000 $5,000 $0
WR Mike Wallace $5,400 $5,400 $0
WR Jarius Wright $5,000 $4,900 -$100
WR Charles Johnson $4,700 $4,700 $0
TE Kyle Rudolph $5,000 $5,000 $0
K Blair Walsh $4,500 $4,600 +$100
D Minnesota Vikings $4,400 $4,500 +$100
Totals $49,300 $49,400 +$100

If you're wary of Charles Johnson at the third wide receiver spot, you could plug in one of the Adam Thielen/Stefon Diggs/Cordarrelle Patterson combo platter for $4,500 instead. Not sure why Peterson's value actually drops in any of these leagues, but there you have it.

That's what I've got for this week's FanDuel action. Who are you folks putting in your lineups this week?
