Another Rally Planned For Minneapolis, Could Delay Stadium Traffic

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

For the second time this season, a demonstration/rally near TCF Bank Stadium could present issues to individuals attempting to make their way to TCF Bank Stadium for a Minnesota Vikings football game.

On Sunday, members of the National Coalition against Racism in Sports and Media plan on gathering near TCF Bank Stadium in protest of the Kansas City Chiefs team nickname.

According to the Vikings' official website,

The community march will begin on Church Street/17th Avenue at 9:30 a.m. and move north to University Avenue. From University Avenue, the march will move east for approximately four blocks before reaching the final rally destination south of TCF Bank Stadium. Fans should particularly take note that the Minneapolis Police plan to close two of the three lanes of University Avenue from approximately 10:00-10:30 a.m. The south lane of University is currently expected to remain open during the march, and at the conclusion of the march, all lanes of University will once again be open for vehicles.

So, if you are planning on driving to TCF Bank Stadium in order to watch today's contest, be aware of these happenings and plan accordingly. The link to the Vikings' website above presents a couple of "park and ride" options for folks that would like to utilize that particular alternative.
