In news that comes way, way, WAY out of left field, Minnesota Vikings' defensive end Everson Griffen has been declared INACTIVE for this afternoon's game against the Kansas City Chiefs at TCF Bank Stadium.
Griffen was not listed on the injury report all week, and there has been no indication that he has been dealing with any sort of football-related issues leading up to today's game. The team is saying that he has an illness, but have not been any more specific about it at this time.
Griffen is the Vikings' sack leader with three of the team's eight sacks through the first four games of the season. He has been a big reason why the Minnesota defense has been among the best in the National Football League through the early portion of this season.
Danielle Hunter, the team's third-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, will get his first NFL start today in Griffen's place.
Again, defensive end Everson Griffen has been deactivated for today's game against the Kansas City Chiefs with an illness. We will have more on this as the situation warrants, along with the rest of today's inactives.
