We're 24 hours away from the Minnesota Vikings kicking things off at Ford Field against the Detroit Lions. That means it's time to go through all of the ways you can follow along with the action on Sunday afternoon. Let's get to it.
Television Info
Once again, we'll be kicking things off at noon Central time, and coverage for this week will be back on FOX, and the team in the booth will be Chris Myers and Ronde Barber. In the Twin Cities, that means you'll be tuning in to KMSP-9. If you're outside the area, be sure to check your local listings. If you're wondering where the broadcast area is for this week's game, here's the map from the good folks at The 506. The area for the Vikings/Lions game is shown in green.
If you're outside of the local area and will be tuning in through the DirecTV Sunday Ticket package, you'll be looking for Channel 705.
If you're looking for the game north of the border, you can find it on CTV Winnipeg, FOX Detroit, or FOX Minneapolis. (Thanks to A Rouge Point for this information.)
For our friends in the United Kingdom, this game will not be on Channel 4 or Sky Sports. It will only be available on NFL Game Pass. (Thanks to NFL UK.)
For our men and women overseas, the game will not be shown live on the American Forces Network. However, you will be able to catch the replay at 0600Z Monday on AFN Sports 2. That's 0700L in Central Europe (remember the time change this weekend), 1030L in Afghanistan, and 1500L in Japan and Korea.
Radio Info
If you have an affiliate nearby, you can listen to the call from Paul Allen and Pete Bercich on the Vikings Radio Network. If you're not sure whether or not you have an affiliate nearby, here is a full listing of Vikings Radio Network affiliates from the Vikings' official website.
If you're going the satellite radio route, you can get the Vikings' feed on Sirius Channel 135. If you have an XM radio, you're stuck with the Lions' feed on XM 229. Also, if you're using the SiriusXM online app, you can get the Vikings' feed on their permanent home on Channel 817.
Referee Info
According to the folks from Football Zebras, for the third time this year. . .THE GUN SHOW IS IN TOWN! Ed Hochuli will be the head referee for this week's contest. This is the third time this season that Hochuli (and his biceps) have been on the call for a Vikings game. . .not sure why he's being assigned to the Vikings so frequently.
Streaming Info
CCNorseman did a post during the preseason about legal streaming of NFL games. It outlines the only outlets for legal streaming of NFL action. If you're overseas, there's the aforementioned NFL GamePass to subscribe to as well.
As far as other streams are concerned, do NOT. . .and I mean not in any way, shape, or form. . .promote illegal streaming sites on The Daily Norseman. Not in the comments, not in the FanPosts, not in the FanShots, not in the Game Thread on Sunday, not anywhere. Don't even hint at them. Trust me on this. If you're that determined to watch the game via an illegal stream, do a Google search and find it on your own.
And that's how you can follow all of the action for this Sunday's game, ladies and gentlemen. We'll have the inactives up approximately 90 minutes before kickoff, and the Open Thread will appear an hour before kickoff.
