We're less than an hour and a half away from game time in Denver, and both the Minnesota Vikings and Denver Broncos have released their lists of inactive players for this afternoon's contest. Let's take a look at who will be sitting this one out for both sides, starting with the home team.
Minnesota Vikings
TE Chase Ford
QB Taylor Heinicke
WR Charles Johnson
CB Jabari Price
LB Edmond Robinson
S Andrew Sendejo
DE Justin Trattou
Wide receiver Jarius Wright is active and will, presumably, start across from Mike Wallace at receiver for the Vikings in Johnson's absence. Audie Cole, who was also listed as questionable for this one, is also active, as is cornerback Xavier Rhodes. Johnson, Price, Sendejo, and Trattou were all listed as "out" on the injury report, so no surprises there. And, for the first time, rookie Stefon Diggs is active for the Vikings. It will be interesting to see how much action he sees in this one.
UPDATE: I was in error above. It turns out that Adam Thielen will get his first-ever National Football League start in Johnson's place. Unexpected, but also kind of cool. Congratulations to him!
And now, on to the home side.
Denver Broncos
DE Kenny Anunike
S Omar Bolden
TE Mitchell Henry
LB Lerentee McCray
OT Ty Sambrailo
QB Trevor Siemian
G Shelley Smith
Again, not a lot of huge surprises on the list for the Broncos. We knew that Sambrailo was going to be out, and Anunike and Bolden were both listed on the injury report, though they were both listed as probable. The two players the Broncos listed as questionable, tight end James Casey and linebacker Todd Davis, are both active for Denver.
And that's who will be sitting this one out for both the Vikings and the Broncos in today's match-up at Mile High. We'll have the Open Thread up and ready for your consumption at approximately 2:25 PM Central.
