UPDATE: Peterson has been deemed "probable" to return following his ankle injury.
On a team that has already been dealing with a bunch of injuries, the Minnesota Vikings have suffered what might be the most significant one.
Running back Adrian Peterson got his ankle rolled up on a run in the second quarter against the Chicago Bears. It came at the end of a 9-yard run where it appeared that Peterson got tangled up with two Chicago defenders.
On the afternoon thus far, Peterson has 12 carries for 56 yards. He has been walking around on the sideline appearing to try to walk it off, but we have not received word yet on whether or not he'll be back.
On the previous series, the Vikings also lost cornerback Xavier Rhodes to an ankle injury. Rhodes went down to knock away a pass in the end zone, and immediately limped towards the sideline. He was on a stationary bike attempting to keep whatever injury it was loose.
We will have updates on both of these injuries as we get more word on them.
