As I write this, the Minnesota Vikings lead the New York Giants by a score of 32-10 going into the fourth quarter, all but assuring them of a post-season berth and a crack at the NFC North division title in Week 17.
Apparently, the folks at the NFL offices and NBC agree with that.
The announcement has just been made that the game at Lambeau Field between the Vikings and the Green Bay Packers in Week 17 has been moved to Sunday Night Football, giving the Vikings the eyes of the nation for the second consecutive week.
With the way that things have fallen, the winner of Sunday night's game will win the NFC North and take home the #3 seed in the NFC playoffs. If the Vikings win, they will host the Seattle Seahawks, and if Green Bay wins, the Vikings will likely head back to Lambeau for the second consecutive week for the Wild Card round of the playoffs.
We'll have more on the possible seeding scenarios for the Vikings in the playoffs a bit later on. For now, however, next week we will once again have to wait all day for Sunday Night Football.
