In today's pass-happy NFL one man is reminding everyone that the running game is still very important.
Adrian Peterson has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Month for November. The 30-year-old running back racked up 634 yards on 117 carries over the course of the month along with 10 receptions for 82 yards. AP also found the end zone five times in November. He topped 20 carries and 100 yards rushing in each of the four victories the Vikings amassed last month. It's no secret that Peterson remains the biggest part of Minnesota's winning formula.
Peterson is the first Vikings player to be named Offensive Player of the Month since...Adrian Peterson in December 2012. You may recall that he finished that season with an even bigger award--Most Valuable Player. He is the first Vikings player to win Player of the Month on either side of the ball since Everson Griffen took home Defensive Player of the Month honors in October 2014.
Congratulations to Peterson! He'll need to follow up his award-winning November with a strong December if the Vikings hope to continue their playoff push.
