It's been a bit of an up-and-down season for Minnesota Vikings' kicker Blair Walsh. Here's another one of the "ups."
It was just announced that the Vikings' fourth-year kicker was named the winner of the NFC's Special Teams Player of the Week Award for Week 16 of NFL action.
Walsh had a pretty good game in the Vikings' 49-17 victory over the New York Giants on Sunday night. He connected on all five of his field goal attempts, including two from over fifty yards, and was good on four of five extra points. For the season, Walsh is now 32-of-37 on the season in field goal attempts, including 6-of-8 from more than fifty yards out.
This is the fifth time that Walsh has been named the NFC's Special Teams Player of the Week, which is the most in Vikings' franchise history.
Congratulations to Blair Walsh on being named the NFC's Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 16.
