Minnesota Vikings News and Links, 2/12

Welcome to Thursday, ladies and gentlemen. We've almost made it through another week, which is nice.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-As a head coach that calls his own defensive plays, Minnesota Vikings' head coach Mike Zimmer is one of the rarest of the rare in the NFL.

-We speculated about whether or not the Minnesota Vikings would play in this year's Hall of Fame Game. . .and then, a few hours later, it came out that the Minnesota Vikings would, in fact, be playing in this year's Hall of Fame Game.

-Vikings' President Mark Wilf stated yesterday that he would love to see Adrian Peterson back on the team in 2015.

From some other sources around the internet. . .

-Mel Kiper has a new mock draft out, and it has the Vikings taking another wide receiver.

-Adam Thielen, the recipient of the first ever Jim Kleinsasser Award by Daily Norseman readers, had a youth football clinic on Saturday in his native Detroit Lakes.

-Rhett Ellison, whose father comes from New Zealand (and was a former NFL player himself), says that the National Football League could learn a lot from the sport of rugby.

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've ever been, ladies and gentlemen. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if necessary), and keep the pictures work-safe and appropriately-sized.

Here is today's entertainment.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for this Thursday, folks. Enjoy the rest of your day!
