Minnesota Vikings News and Links, 2/5

Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to Thursday, ladies and gentlemen!

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-Yesterday was National Signing Day in college football, so we took a look back at how members of the Minnesota Vikings were viewed as recruits.

-Speaking of recruiting, quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was once courted by the University of Florida. . .as a wide receiver.

From some other sources around the internet. . .

-Our old friend Letroy Guion was arrested yesterday for a whole bunch of stuff. Look for the rest of the media to begin referring to him as "Former Minnesota Viking Letroy Guion" in the near future. Have to protect the "G," after all.

-Not necessarily Vikings-related, but Al Michaels has said that the Minnesota Twins were pumping fake crowd noise into the Metrodome during the 1987 World Series. Meh, let's see him prove it.

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've ever been, ladies and gentlemen. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if necessary), and keep the pictures work-safe and appropriately-sized.

Today's entertainment comes from Jimmy Fallon. There's a chance you've already seen it, but enjoy!

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for this Thursday, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy the rest of your day!
