So can we start calling Buffalo "Minnesota East" yet?
No? OK, fair enough. But the Bills have signed away their second free agent from the Minnesota Vikings.
Matt Cassel is going to be joined in upstate New York by fullback Jerome Felton. According to Ian Rapaport and multiple media reports, Felton is the newest member of the Buffalo Bills:

Most of us figured that Felton was likely to move on due to his lack of finding a fit in Norv Turner's offense. Felton has always been one of Pro Football Focus' highest-rated fullbacks, but he only saw 175 snaps in 2014. Seeing that little of the field wasn't good for Felton and it wasn't good for the Vikings, who were paying him over $2 million a year for his limited services.
If you want to go a little more "conspiracy theory" about this move, you may (irresponsibly) read into it as another sign that Adrian Peterson won't be back with the Vikings next season. Felton absolutely loved blocking for AP and was a very vocal proponent of Peterson during his child endangerment situation last year. Perhaps Felton is skipping town because he knows his old backfield mate is leaving as well?
But yeah, it was probably more likely that the Vikings didn't want to spend that much on a barely-used fullback and Felton wanted to be a part of Rex Ryan's running scheme with LeSean McCoy. Still, it makes you wonder, right?
We're now an hour into free agency. No rest for the weary--stay tuned for even more as the news breaks.
