LG Clint Boling, considered by most to be the second best left guard available in free agency, is close to re-signing with the Cincinnati Bengals.
It looks like Boling, who said Mike Zimmer was a big reason he was interested in Minnesota, will not be coming to the Vikings after all. Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com just tweeted this out moments ago:
Looks like Bengals closing in on re-signing LG Clint Boling

Vikings beat reporter Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press does a little bit more speculating/deducing, based on earlier moves made by the team today:
@GeoffHobsonCin reporting Bengals close on Clint Boling. Knowledge of such could be why Vikings gave 2 years to Berger. Might be LG starter

There's still plenty of free agency left to go, but it looks like their top choice at left guard looks to be off the table. If anything changes, we'll let you know.
9:07 PM CT UPDATE: Done deal. He stays with the Bengals:
#Bengals guard Clint Boling is staying put. Team source says he has agreed to terms w/ Cincy, should sign tomorrow.
