As you can see, one name is opening up a pretty significant lead over the rest of the field.

For the first time since we started our database for this year, a group other than the wide receivers is leading the way, as the defensive backs have taken over the top spot in our chart. They now hold 42 of our 90 selections (46.7%), and our overall leader is now Michigan State cornerback Trae Waynes. Waynes now holds 35 selections in our table (38.9%), which means he's now pretty much lapping the field. Alabama safety Landon Collins holds steady this week with four selections (4.4%), while Washington cornerback Marcus Peters jumped from one selection to three in this week's database (3.3%).

The wide receiver position has dropped to second on the list, hanging on to 23 of our selections (25.6%). Louisville receiver DeVante Parker continues to lead the way, but dropped from 20 to 16 selections this week (17.8%). The other two receivers represented also saw their totals drop this week, as Kevin White of West Virginia went from six selections to four (4.4%), while Amari Cooper of Alabama fell from five to three (3.3%).

Offensive linemen have narrowed the gap on the receivers a little bit, as they sit in third place with 16 of our 90 selections this week (17.8%). Four of the five offensive linemen represented this week saw their totals increase. Brandon Scherff, the guard/tackle out of Iowa, continues to lead the way with six selections (6.7%), up one from last week. Stanford tackle Andrus Peat went from three selections to four (4.4%), LSU lineman La'el Collins went from two to three (3.3%), and Ereck Flowers from "The U" saw his total go from one to two (2.2%). Pitt offensive tackle T.J. Clemmings held on to his one selection this week (1.1%).

The defensive line continues to lag behind a bit, garnering only four selections this week (4.4%). Missouri defensive end Shane Ray held steady with two selections this week (2.2%), but Washington defensive tackle Danny Shelton saw his total drop from two to one (1.1%). One of our two debuts this week comes from Kentucky defensive end Alvin "Bud" Dupree, who found his way into one selection this week (1.1%).

Linebackers have three selections in this week's database (3.3%), with Washington linebacker/safety hybrid Shaq Thompson continuing to hold on to his two selections this week (2.2%). Our other debut this week is Clemson outside linebacker Vic Beasley, whose name appears once in our database (1.1%).

Rounding things out, Melvin Gordon out of Wisconsin is holding it down for the running back position with two selections (2.2%).

Let's get on to the visuals here, starting with this week's donut graph, and you can see that the slice held by Trae Waynes is just as ridiculously large as the one that DeVante Parker held earlier on in our process.

And now on to the trend graph, where the blue section continues to grow and the purple one continues to shrink.

Minnesota Vikings Mock Draft Database Trends v6.0

Next week, we'll get up to the magical 100 mark in the database. After that, I likely won't be adding any more, but rather weeding out ones that haven't been updated recently to get a more accurate look at what the trend is as we get closer to draft day.

But that's the Mock Draft Database for this week, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy!
