Minnesota Vikings News and Links, 3/5

Malcolm Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

We've almost made it through the week, ladies and gentlemen. And in just two days, we'll be looking at the start of the "legal tampering" period of NFL free agency, during which the Minnesota Vikings will probably just sit back, relax and not do a whole lot of HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA yeah, right.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-The big story from yesterday was the Vikings agreeing to trade quarterback Matt Cassel to the Buffalo Bills. Here's our story on that, as well as the perspective from the folks at Buffalo Rumblings.

-With Cassel out of the picture, the Vikings now need to find somebody to back up Teddy Bridgewater.

-The sale of season tickets to the new Minnesota Vikings stadium is coming along nicely.

-Ted gives us an update on the salary cap situation, with more moves to possibly come.

From some other sources across the interwebs. . .

-The meeting between the team brass and running back Adrian Peterson apparently went pretty well.

-Speaking of the stadium, people are still all like WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH BIRDS WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

-The Vikings landed three players on NFL.com's all-under 25 team. . .which is two more than the rest of the NFC North combined.

The rules of the Open Thread are as follows:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-No pictures that could potentially get someone fired or in serious trouble at their place of employment
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for this Thursday, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy the rest of your day!
