Moving right along in the 2015 Daily Norseman Community Mock Draft, we come to the Baltimore Ravens and the 26th overall selection. The Ravens are going to have a bit of a different look next season, with defensive stalwart Haloti Ngata ending up in Detroit (boooooooooooooooo) and deep threat Torrey Smith taking his game to San Francisco. With this selection, General Manager lmoe12 decided to take a swing at replacing one of those two players.

With the 26th pick in the 2015 Daily Norseman Community Mock Draft, the Baltimore Ravens select. . .

Breshad Perriman, wide receiver, University of Central Florida

Here's what lmoe12 had to say about why he selected Perriman in this spot.

With the top 3 corners taken, the focus switches to the offense where wide receiver is a big need. The Ravens lost their best deep threat in Torrey Smith, and the jury is still out on if Marlon Brown can become a reliable option. Enter Perriman, a serious big-play threat with his size and speed combo (6-2, 212 pounds, 4.24 40) and the ability to come down with contested catches. He is still raw in terms of catching ability and route running but with an established QB and a veteran WR in Steve Smith to help him grow, Baltimore can be the perfect fit. Joe Flacco needs weapons on this offense, Perriman could be a good one.

My Thoughts

Perriman has been flying up the draft boards in recent weeks, with ESPN's own Mel Kiper. . .dramatic pause. . .draft expert even placing him in the top ten of his most recent mock projection. Still, you have to wonder if Perriman isn't a bit of a. . .dare I say it. . .Troy Williamson in waiting. Sure, he's super fast, but for every great catch he makes, you'll see a drop that will make you shake your head. He could end up being an outstanding deep threat but, as lmoe12 says, if he can't get over his inconsistency with his hands, all the speed in the world won't do him much good. This is a real boom-or-bust pick for Baltimore here.

What do you think of this selection, folks?
