Vikings Mock 4.6.15

New, comments

Since my last mock the Vikings have continued their very efficient dumpster diving and signed 3 players. Mike Kafka QB, Ceasar Rayford DE, and a long snapper named Kevin McDermott. I hope the dudes can make the team. There are still some players out there but it does not look like the Vikings are that interested in any (that we know of) at this point.

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

I still like Steve Wisniewski, Gabe Carimi OG/OT, Colin McCarthy LB, and Da'Quan Bowers DE/DT as other signings.

As for Adrian Peterson, well, the trade machine is in full effect.  There are still more teams I could imagine where he could get traded.

So here is the new mock for today ...

1. The Vikings trade Adrian Peterson, the #45 pick, and the #232 pick to the Arizona Cardinals for the #24, #86, & 198 picks plus Kareem Martin DE.

Obviously the Cardinals have been rumored to be a team that may have interest in AP and AP has reciprocated those sentiments.  This trade amounts to a mid 2nd (the difference from #24 to #45), a 3rd, and a player for AP.  I would be pretty happy with this deal.  Why would they move on from Martin?  Well here is an article that explains a bit about how they are going to try and use him ...

http://www.azcardinals.com/news-and-events/article-2/Kareem-Martin-Tries-Outside-Linebacker/e3a79efa-da39-4583-95c1-0eb18cd2415d

... I think he is a better fit as a 4-3 DE and was surprised they selected him in the draft.  He was 6'6" 272 and ran a 4.72 forty with a 35.5 vertical jump, and a 10'8" broad jump.  He has 35" arms too.

Now some would argue that the Vikings should get the Cardinals #24 pick, #86 pick, and Kareem Martin.  That would be very nice for sure.  I just do not see it happening.

So now I go onto the draft and I am using the drafttek mock as a guide ...

The Vikings have these picks now ... 1.11, 1.24, 3.76, 3.86, 4.110, 5.137, 6.198, 7.228.

1st trade - 1.11.11 to the Eagles for 1.20.20, 2.20.52, & 6.20.196

The Eagles make this trade to move up to ensure they get Trae Waynes CB.
The Vikings have these picks now ... 1.21, 1.24, 2.20, 3.76, 3.86, 4.110, 5.137, 6.196, 6.198, 7.228.

3rd trade - 2.52 & 3.86 to the Jets for 2.37

The Jets only have 6 picks so dropping down 15 spots to pick up and extra 3rd round pick is worth it.
The Vikings have these picks now ... 2.5, 3.76, 4.110, 4.129, 5.137, 6.196, 6.198, 6.205, 7.228.
