2015 NFL Mock Draft: Jacksonville Jaguars Select Leonard Williams

We are on to the third pick of the 2015 Daily Norseman Community Mock Draft and, after the first two picks, this selection seems almost dull. But for this team in the situation they're in, there's really nothing wrong with this selection either. Jaguars GM "n s" has submitted the pick, so let's bring it to you now.

With the third pick in the 2015 Daily Norseman Community Mock Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select. . .

Leonard Williams, defensive tackle, University of Southern California

There wasn't a lot of commentary from n s, who gave me a couple of picks based on what happened ahead of him. But Williams was his first choice, so that's who he wound up with.

He would help get more QB pressures, while dominating the run. BPA, best player in draft.

My Thoughts

Williams is the consensus best defensive player in the draft, from most accounts, and seems to be perilously close to holding the crown of the "safest pick" in the 2015 NFL Draft. He has the size and the quickness to play either inside or outside, depending on the scheme, and would immediately step in and make an impact on the Jaguars' defense. Really, it's not the most exciting pick, but for a team like the Jaguars that has had their struggles for a while, this is a case where substance would easily trump style. Williams could conceivably go anywhere in the top 5, and he'd really be a no-brainer pick for the Jaguars in this spot.
