Some More Random Vikings OTA Notes

There's more action to report on from OTAs with the Minnesota Vikings, and since we're in a bit of a lull, let's take a look at what some folks that are there watching are saying on the Twitter.

We'll start with what might be the biggest news, as we have another name jumping into the fray in the battle for the starting right guard spot.

To this point, David Yankey and T.J. Clemmings had gotten much of the work at right guard. Clemmings had missed a little bit of time with a minor injury, but he was back at practice today. This time, however, he was playing the right tackle spot with Phil Loadholt still sitting out.

Incidentally, Loadholt is expected to participate in the team's mandatory minicamp next week, as will Anthony Barr.

Head coach Mike Zimmer gave a little bit of clarification on the comments he made yesterday about Adrian Peterson's preseason status.

Despite that, I'd still be surprised if we saw Adrian Peterson in the Vikings' huddle before 14 September in San Francisco. But, I've been wrong on these sorts of things before.

And one last one for folks to potentially overreact to in either direction.

A middle linebacker that actually does coverage? Wow. . .how crazy would that be, huh?

There's a couple of OTA tidbits for folks to chew on. This is the final OTA session before the team's mandatory minicamp, which will run from 16 to 18 June. After that, the team won't be together again until Training Camp gets underway, with players reporting on 25 July and the first practice happening on 26 July.
