Get Some Minnesota Vikings For The Cover Of Madden 16

Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

In the lead-up to the 2014 NFL Draft, we learned the interesting fact that part of Teddy Bridgewater's study habits included programming his playbook into his copy of the latest entry into the Madden NFL franchise. From there, he could get a feel for the playbook and how defenses react.

Now, if you want to, you can put Teddy on the cover of your copy of Madden NFL '16 when it comes out next month.

An enterprising Twitterer that goes by the name of Matt Steller has put together some pretty impressive custom Madden covers for this year's game. And, biased though I am, I'd have to go way out on a limb and say that his best one is the one he did featuring everyone's favorite young quarterback.

Yeah. . .that's good stuff.

For those of you that would rather have the XBox One version. . .heathens. . .that one was featured on NFL.com as part of a gallery of a lot of Steller's work.

After a little bit of digging, it turns out that Teddy isn't the only young Viking that Steller has put a custom Vikings cover together for.

Linebacker Anthony Barr has one as well. I don't know if there's an XBox One version of Barr's cover.

Only two Vikings have ever made the actual cover of a Madden game. Madden 2002 featured quarterback Daunte Culpepper, who struggled in 2001 (as did most of the rest of the team) and wound up blowing out a knee before the end of the season. In 2013, Adrian Peterson sort of made the cover. . .he lost to Barry Sanders in the finals of the tournament to see who would be featured on the cover of Madden 25, but wound up being featured on the "next generation" versions of the game. He didn't have a great season the year he was on the cover, either.

But this year, that problem belongs to Giants' wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. I don't think the Madden curse transfers to custom covers of the game.

EDIT: Found another one!
