NFL Week 1 2015: Sunday Open Thread

New, comments
Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

With the Minnesota Vikings getting the privilege of opening the season in prime time on Monday night. . .and giving all of us Vikings fans the privilege of staying up waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay past our bedtimes in order to see it. . .we get the opportunity to spend the first real day of the 2015 NFL season in the second-best way possible.

The best way, of course, is to spend it watching the Vikings. However, since we can't do that, it's going to be a RED ZONE SUNDAY, ladies and gentlemen. Yes, for folks that have it, the NFL Red Zone Channel is right up there with the internal combustion engine, electricity, sanitation, and the crock pot as one of the finest inventions of all time. (Not necessarily in that order. . .I mean, crock pots are really awesome.) That's what I'm going to be keeping an eye on today, anyway.

Here is the full slate of Sunday action for Week 1 of the National Football League. If you don't have the Red Zone Channel and want to know what games are on in your area, you can check out the good folks at The 506.

EARLY GAMES ON CBS

Miami Dolphins at Washington Redskins - Ian Eagle, Dan Fouts
Cleveland Browns at New York Jets - Greg Gumbel, Trent Green
Kansas City Chiefs at Houston Texans - Kevin Harlan, Rich Gannon (best announcer pairing on TV, IMO)
Indianapolis Colts at Buffalo Bills - Spero Dedes, Solomon Wilcots

EARLY GAMES ON FOX

Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears - Joe Buck, Troy Aikman (because who else?)
Seattle Seahawks at St. Louis Rams - Kenny Albert, Darryl Johnston
Carolina Panthers at Jacksonville Jaguars - Chris Myers, Ronde Barber

LATE GAMES ON CBS

Baltimore Ravens at Denver Broncos - Jim Nantz, Phil Simms
Tennessee Titans at Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Andrew Catalon, Steve Beuerlein
Cincinnati Bengals at Oakland Raiders - Tom McCarthy, Chris Simms

LATE GAMES ON FOX

New Orleans Saints at Arizona Cardinals - Ton Burkhardt, John Lynch
Detroit Lions at San Diego Chargers - Thom Brennaman, Charles Davis

NFC EAST GAME OF THE WEEK SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL ON NBC

New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys - Al Michaels, Cris Collinsworth

You'll have to check and see if your area has a doubleheader on or whatever the case may be. I know only one network each week gets the doubleheader, but there are still early games and late games on both networks.

There you have it, ladies and gentlemen. . .your Open Thread for Week 1 of the 2015 NFL season. Keep the GIFS to a minimum, do NOT promote any sort of illegal streams, and enjoy the games!
