We are, officially, 24 hours away from the Minnesota Vikings kicking off their 2015 NFL season at Levi's Stadium against the San Francisco 49ers. We have a bunch of ways for you to follow along with the action on Monday night, so let's detail them all here.
Television Info
Kickoff time for this one is a late one, scheduled for 9:00 PM Central time with the game being played on the West Coast. The game will be covered by ESPN, which may or may not acknowledge the fact that the Vikings actually exist. The announcers for this one will be Chris Berman and Trent Dilfer, which may or may not cause you to jam an ice pick into at least one of your eardrums. We don't need to go into a big list of affiliates or anything because. . .hey, it's on ESPN.
Our friends up in Canada will be able to see this game on either TSN or RDS. (Thanks to the folks from A Rouge Point for that information.)
If you're in the United Kingdom, you can catch the game on Sky Sports or on NFL Game Pass. (Thanks to the folks from NFL UK.)
For our men and women overseas watching through the American Forces Network, this game will be shown on AFN Sports. It's actually going to be more like Tuesday Morning Football, as coverage starts at 0215Z. That means folks in Central Europe are looking at a 0315L kickoff, 0645L in Afghanistan, and 1115L for everyone in Japan and Korea.
Radio Info
If you'd rather mute the sound and try to sync up your television with the play-by-play feed from Paul Allen and Pete Bercich, here is a complete list of Vikings Radio Network affiliates around the Upper Midwest that you can use to try to do that.
If you're going the satellite radio route, you can find the Vikings feed on XM 226 or Sirius Channel 83. You can also get the national feed from Westwood One on Sirius/XM NFL Radio, Channel 88. If you're using the Sirius/XM online app, you can get the Vikings feed on their permanent home, Channel 817.
Referee Info
The Vikings' regular season is going to begin the same way their preseason did. . .with TICKETS TO THE GUN SHOW! That's right. . .according to the folks from Football Zebras, Ed Hochuli will be doing the honors for Monday night's contest. Pete Morelli will be doing the game in Houston, and with any luck he'll stay there forever.
Streaming Info
CCNorseman did a post during the preseason about legal streaming of NFL games. This game, since it's on ESPN, will also be on the Watch ESPN app or the Watch ESPN stream.
As far as other streams are concerned, do NOT. . .and I mean not in any way, shape, or form. . .promote illegal streaming sites on The Daily Norseman. Not in the comments, not in the FanPosts, not in the FanShots, not in the Game Thread on Sunday, not anywhere. Don't even hint at them. Trust me on this. If you're that determined to watch the game via an illegal stream, do a Google search and find it on your own.
And that should be all the information you need to be able to follow along with all the action of the final game of the 2015 preseason. The Open Thread will be up and ready to go approximately an hour before kickoff.
