It's that time of the week where we make our predictions official for the Week 2 game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Detroit Lions. Both teams are desperate for a divisional win after starting the season 0-1. Once again, the folks from The Crowd's Line are providing us with a handy widget to predict the final score of the game. Make sure to pick what you actually think the score will be, because they're tracking which SB Nation blogs are closest to the actual score of each game throughout the season. Daily Norseman obviously got off to a bad start--our average prediction of Vikings 26.1 - 49ers 17.9 wasn't very close, putting us in 29th out of the 32 blogs after Week 1. So maybe hold off on your "Vikings 143, Lions -3" predictions.
As it currently stands, the Vikings are a 3-point favorite, which means Vegas thinks the two teams are pretty evenly matched. (Home teams traditionally get 3 points by default.) As I outlined in my Week 2 preview on Thursday, both teams still have plenty of questions to answer. I think we'll get a much better performance from our beloved purple at home and the Vikings will do just enough to earn their first victory of the 2015 season.
My prediction: Vikings 27, Lions 24. (Still not sure if that 27 points comes from two field goals or one missed extra point though.)
Now it's your turn. WHO YA GOT?!
