This year, my Week 1 FanDuel sojourn went. . .well, it went about as well as most of my FanDuel sojourns went last season. Of course, it doesn't help when the wide receiver that you shelled out the greatest amount of money for goes all game without a single reception.
Yeah, looking RIGHT AT YOU, Sammy Watkins.
So, I didn't get into the big money last weekend. Or the medium money. Or even the small money. But therein lies the great thing about FanDuel. . .I can try again this weekend with a whole new team! So, who am I going to try to roll with this week? Here's what I've got:
Position | Player | Team | Opponent | Salary |
QB | Marcus Mariota | TEN | @ CLE | $7,400 |
RB | Marshawn Lynch | SEA | @ GB | $8,500 |
RB | Chris Ivory | NYJ | @ IND | $6,900 |
WR | DeAndre Hopkins | HOU | @ CAR | $8,100 |
WR | Jarvis Landry | MIA | @ JAC | $7,100 |
WR | Steve Smith | BAL | @OAK | $6,700 |
TE | Kyle Rudolph | MIN | DET | $5,100 |
K | Adam Vinatieri | IND | NYJ | $5,000 |
D | St. Louis Rams | STL | @ WAS | $4,900 |
Total Salary | $59,700 |
Hopefully things will go significantly better than they did last week. It wouldn't take a heck of a lot for that to happen, but it would be nice. And yes, my strategy for selecting defenses thus far is "find whoever the Redskins are playing and take them." It seems like a sound strategy.
So, how much would it cost you to field an entire roster full of Minnesota Vikings in FanDuel this week? Well, as you'd probably expect, it's going to cost less than it did last week.
Position | Player | Week 1 Salary | Week 2 Salary | Change |
QB | Teddy Bridgewater | $7,200 | $7,000 | -$200 |
RB | Adrian Peterson | $9,200 | $9,000 | -$200 |
RB | Jerick McKinnon | $5,700 | $5,500 | -$200 |
WR | Mike Wallace | $6,400 | $6,200 | -$200 |
WR | Charles Johnson | $5,600 | $5,400 | -$200 |
WR | Jarius Wright | $5,300 | $5,100 | -$200 |
TE | Kyle Rudolph | $5,300 | $5,100 | -$200 |
K | Blair Walsh | $4,700 | $4,700 | $0 |
D | Minnesota | $4,400 | $4,400 | $0 |
Totals | $53,800 | $52,400 | -$1,400 |
Fun fact. . .on FanDuel this week, it would cost you more to start Robert Griffin III at quarterback ($7,100) than it would cost you to start Teddy Bridgewater ($7,000). Well, it would also cost you a big ol' zero in your quarterback spot because, seriously, I'll see the field this season before Robert Griffin III will.
But that's what I'm looking at for FanDuel this week, ladies and gentlemen. Are you folks in for this week? Who are you going with?
