Last week, Adrian Peterson was a nominee for the FedEx Ground Player of the Week, but I kind of felt he didn't have much of a chance because he fumbled twice, nor did he find the end zone.
This week, Peterson is once again up for the award, and I like his chances a little bit better. Fresh off his second consecutive 100 yard game, AP was nominated once again, amassing 126 yards on 20 carries, and two touchdowns. More importantly, he didn't fumble once, and what seemed like an early sign of trouble for him has seemed to taken care of itself, at least for the time being.
But just like last week, Peterson has stiff competition in the two other nominess. The first one is Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman, who went off on Dallas in a 39-28 win, going for 141 yards on 30 carries, and three rushing touchdowns. Not to humble brag, but I picked up Freeman and started him for my fantasy team this week. Gotta admit, it was pretty awesome.
The third and final nominee is Raiders running back Latavius Murray, who ran for 139 yards on 26 carries, scoring a touchdown in the Raiders 27-20 win over Cleveland. Murray is forming what looks to be a great offensive nucleus in Oakland along with QB Derek Carr and WR Amari Cooper, and they've helped get the Raiders out to a 2-1 start.
If you make me pick, I'd probably guess Freeman would win, but that's why they vote, I guess.
