Vikings Sign Brock Vereen To Practice Squad

The move caps one of several over the last couple days

Yesterday, the Vikings made a roster move, releasing Blake Renaud and signing Donte Foster to the practice squad, who was cut during training camp.

Today, the Houston Texans made a few moves, including signing Vikings LB Brian Peters off the practice squad to their active roster, leaving a spot vacant on the Vikings practice squad.

There was some speculation that with a couple injuries to wide receiver Jarius Wright and Charles Johnson the Vikings could fill their remaining practice squad spot with a receiver, but instead they signed former Gopher and defensive back Brock Vereen.

Vereen, who was drafted by the Bears in the 4th round of the 2014 draft, was released earlier in the week, and became an unrestricted free agent on Wednesday. Playing for the Gophers from 2010-2013, Vereen played cornerback and safety, and as a senior he was named First Team All Big Ten.

The move caps one of several over the last couple days, and there were no indications of any other pending moves.
