Ok, pre-season is officially in the books. Player evaluations will be coming quickly over the next couple days, and final decisions made by coaches and GM. Here is my prediction:
Teddy Bridgewater, Shaun Hill, Taylor Heinicke
Adrian Peterson, Jerick McKinnon, Matt Asiata
Matt Kalil, Brandon Fusco, John Sullivan, Mike Harris, TJ Clemmings, Joe Berger, David Yankey, Austin Shepherd, Zac Kerin
Kyle Rudolph, Mycole Pruitt, Rhett Ellison, Chase Ford
Mike Wallace, Charles Johnson, Jarius Wright, Cordarrelle Patterson, Stephon Diggs, Adam Thielen
Everson Griffen, Sharriff Floyd, Linval Joseph, Brian Robison, Tom Johnson, Shamar Stephen, Danielle Hunter, Scott Crichton, Justin Trattou
Chad Greenway, Anthony Barr, Gerald Hodges, Eric Kendricks, Audie Cole, Brandon Watts, Edmond Robinson
Xavier Rhodes, Terence Newman, Captain Munnerlyn, Josh Robinson (PUP), Trae Waynes, Josh Thomas
Harrison Smith, Robert Blanton, Antone Exum, Andrew Sendejo
Blair Walsh, Jeff Locke, Kevin McDermott
Close call, but I think Stephon Diggs wins the PR position, based on upside potential over Sherels as well as current performance- and can be a bigger contributor elsewhere than Sherels.
I'd say there is a decent chance Mauti is the last LB kept for his ST role, and Robinson attempted to move onto the practice squad. But, there is some potential another team snaps him up, so I put Robinson as the last LB kept- but could go either way, depending on how likely Robinson makes the practice squad.
I'm betting they keep Heinicke as the eventual successor to Shaun Hill, necessitating a roster spot for him. I also think they won't keep Zach Line, preferring Ellison in that lead blocker role, but who has more versatility, with Asiata a possibility as a FB-type as well. That's also why I have Chase Ford making the roster, essential as the third TE with Ellison more of a FB or HB in Norv's offense.
But yes, I have Marcus Sherels' luck running out this year. We'll see.
