Donte Foster Released By Minnesota Vikings

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

And, just like that, the Minnesota Vikings are down to 73 players.

The latest player to be informed of his release is wide receiver Donte Foster. Foster played his college football at the University of Ohio, and signed with the Vikings after going undrafted in the 2014 NFL Draft. Foster spent last season on the practice squad, and came back with the team this season. This preseason, he had two receptions for ten yards.

This isn't a surprise, to be honest. With as deep as the Vikings are at wide receiver now, it was going to be tough for anyone to break into the top six. While there's a chance that Foster could be a practice squad candidate again, he might be interested in moving on to a place where he has a better chance of making the big club. I'm not sure how good his odds are of that happening in Minnesota any time soon.

So, the Vikings have made two of the roster moves they need to make to get down to the 53-man limit by 3:00 PM Central tomorrow. They only have. . .twenty to go!

We're keeping all of the moves in one place for you in our roster cuts stream.
