The match-up for Super Bowl 50 will be completely set at the conclusion of this one, ladies and gentlemen. It's nearly time for the NFC Championship Game, which will see the Carolina Panthers play host to the Arizona Cardinals. The winner will advance to play the Denver Broncos in Santa Clara, California two weeks from today.
These are the top two seeds in the conference, and they both defended their home field last weekend to advance to this Championship Game. The Cardinals needed overtime, but they defeated the Green Bay Packers by a score of 26-20 last Saturday, while the Panthers jumped out to a 31-0 halftime lead over the Seattle Seahawks and held on for dear life to win, 31-24.
These two teams met in last year's playoffs on this same field, with the Panthers emerging victorious by a score of 27-16. However, the Panthers won't be trotting Ryan Lindley out at quarterback for this one. . .Carson Palmer is good to go, and his duel with Cam Newton should be a good one.
These have been the two best teams in the conference all season, and it's fitting that they'll be facing off in this one. They appear to be pretty evenly matched, so it should be a pretty good contest.
Enjoy the second-to-last meaningful game of the 2015-16 NFL season, ladies and gentlemen!
