Welcome to your non-football week Tuesday thread.

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Tuesday, everyone! Let me begin by saying I have no clue how people can work with one screen, and working from a laptop should be banned in all states.........even California.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Chris shared the Adam Shefter report that the Vikings will sign Jake Long today.

Over at the SB Nation Sooners site, they take a look at Sam Bradford's start to the season.

Chris shared some numbers from the Vikings' fast start.

Ted wants you to ask Roughing the Podcast.

In our seemingly daily edition of As the O-line World Turns, Andre Smith was moved to injured reserve, and Mike Harris will not play again this year. Both men have likely seen their last action as Minnesota Vikings. I'm particularly concerned about/sad for Harris. I thought he did a heck of a job filling in last year, and he could have been starting this year. I just hope whatever is ailing him is something he can recover from.

Vikings news from other sources:

Matt Vensel at the Strib looks at the shotgun marriage that has the Vikings on a roll.

From Vikings.com

Craig Peters posted his After Further Review segment, where he looks at a dandy dozen by the Vikings defense.

Marc Sessler says it's time to take the Vikings very seriously, per Lindsey Young.

Here is Coach Zimmer's press conference from yesterday.

Around the NFL:

Gary Kubiak won't coach the Broncos for Thursday night's game due to health reasons. It's Thursday Night Football, he won't be missing much.

The Dolphins' Laremy Turnsil (Seriously, if he plays poorly, his nickname is turnstile. It's perfect.) suffered an ankle injury.......while showering.

We come to today's media selection. On this day in 1969, Muddy Waters was seriously injured and 3 people were killed in a car accident near Chicago, so let's play one from the great Muddy Waters. This is actually a pretty fitting song for the Vikings this year.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could potentially get someone fired or in serious trouble at their place of employment
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door

With that, the beer light is down and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the tiger meat.
