NFL Week Six Open Thread

No Vikings football today, but there’s still plenty of NFL action taking place on this Sunday.

NFL: Cincinnati Bengals at Dallas Cowboys Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

On this Sunday, we’ve got some bad news, but plenty of good news as well.

The bad news is that, since this is the Minnesota Vikings’ bye week, our favorite football team is not going to be on the air for us to watch today.

Now, here’s all the good news:

  • The Vikings will finish this week the same way they finished last week. . .as the NFL’s lone undefeated team.
  • After today, the bye week is over, and we can look forward to the Vikings taking the field again on Sunday.
  • With no Vikings game to focus on, that can only mean one thing. For the third time in six weeks, it’s another RED ZONE SUNDAY~! here at The Daily Norseman.

Yes, there is plenty of NFL action to keep your eye on today, ladies and gentlemen. As the Vikings and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the only teams taking this week off, there are fourteen games worth of NFL action for your viewing pleasure today.

Looking at the NFC North, all of the Vikings’ divisional foes will be playing at home today. During the early games, we will have the Detroit Lions hosting the Los Angeles Rams on FOX, while CBS will have the Chicago Bears taking on the Jacksonville Jaguars at Soldier Field. The featured late game will take place at Lambeau Field, and will have the Green Bay Packers playing host to the Dallas Cowboys on FOX.

If you want to get a look at the Vikings’ next opponent, the Philadelphia Eagles, they will also be a part of the early slate on FOX, as they travel to the nation’s capital today to face the Washington Redskins.

Here’s the full slate of Week 6 NFL games for you today. If you’re wondering which games will be broadcast in your area, you can check out the broadcast maps from the good folks at 506 Sports.
